Great shoe with the right fit June 22, 2009 P. Wigner (Virginia, USA) 26 out of 27 found this review helpful
I have run in Kayanos for the past 5 years, and each year I nervously try the new model only to find it is as good if not better than the last. I read quite a few reviews for the Kayano 15 and I was more nervous than ususal because there were a few comments about a new feel, the effect of the different lacing pattern on the toe box, etc. I have now been running in 15s for the past few months and I can safely say that for me these shoes are as good if not better than the 14s. I have not noticed any discomfort, and this shoe seems to fit me just a bit better than the 14s. A shoe review is certainly subjective, and no shoe seems to fit everyone the same way, but I'm 6'0" and 195 and I run moderate distances on a weekly basis and the fit and stability of the Kayano 15 has been perfect for me. I just hope I can say the same for the 16s when I need to replace my 15s later this year!
Update (9-4-09) Just a brief update. I can confirm my earlier comments and recommendation for the 15. The shoe has worn very well, and I never experienced any issues with them. I increased my mileage over the past couple months (training for marathon) so I can report that they are just as effective for me at short distances as they are for long.
The Best SHOE ever Made by Humans August 14, 2009 Mason Wood (Forks Washington) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
When i wear these bad boys its almost like walking on a bowl of sugar free jello. the cushioning effect is that unlike any shoe I have ever worn. I run 20+ miles a week and these shoes make it so much easier on my ankles and knees. The gel cushioning technology dissipates the shock horizontally to other parts of your feet instead of vertically directly to the heel.
Well worth the investment!!! September 2, 2009 Alain M. Miller (Trinidad, West Indies) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Well, starting off 50Lbs heavier than I am today, I originally purchased the Asics Nimbus 10. These we're great for what I needed at the time as they we're reviewed as a great shoe for heavier runners and they we're right. Now, as my Nimbus begin to age, I started looking for something a little more versatile. I never tried on the Kayano 15 up until 1 week ago, I also tried the Nimbus 11's, they we're like apples to oranges, as soon as my foot slid in the the Kayanos, it was like I had on down pillows and not runners, even compared to the Nimbus 11, these were much more comfortable and a nice snug fit off the bat.
So, here was the real test, I put them on yesterday and took a little 5 mile run... wow. They we're very stable, plush, yet firm and of course, there doesn't seem to be a break in time, at least not for me, I can only assume they will become more comfortable as they conform to my foot shape also.
I have to tell you, I was hesitant to spend the $130+ on a new show after shelling out $120+ the year earlier, but, honestly, I don't regret it, and I don't think others would either. I noticed other reviews we're basically all positive, so, we can't all be wrong.
Good running!
Just as a side note: I chose the Gel runners over the air and springs that Nike have as I have destroyed the springs and popped the air. (3 nikes in 1 year)
I still like the Nikes, but they are just not for me.
Best shoe I've worn since my Saucony Jazz 5000 in 1994. August 24, 2009 K. Brumbaugh (Dayton, OH USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Best fit and comfort I've had in a running shoe in a long time. I have been wearing the Kayano shoes for about three and a half years now and the heal has always seemed too tight but these have fit great!
Slipping the shoe off and on is easy even with laces somewhat tight. Toe box is comfortable as well and a lot of supported cushioning.
I'm buying my 2nd pair.
The Most Awesome Running Shoe Ever Created! August 26, 2009 Robert L. Stinnett (Boonville, MO) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As someone who is trying to get in shape, I've managed to do a lot of walking and light running over the past 3 months -- over 200 miles worth! For the longest time I was committed to Nike shoes because of the brand and the hype. Not anymore. I'm here to tell you that if you are serious about running (or walking!) you need to invest in the Asics Kayano 15. There simply is no better shoe out there for runners and serious walkers. I have never owned a more comfortable shoe, and I could tell the difference in my workout from day one. Between the full gel sole, the off-center lacing and the incredible heel stability it was like I was I was trying on shoes again for the first time.
Think about your most comfortable running shoes that you own. Now triple that feeling. Sure, the price tag may be a little expensive -- but you get what you pay for, and with Asics I feel I am getting a shoe that is durable and comfortable. Before I was paying for the "name" in Nike, but was not getting the features and quality I was expecting. With the Asics Kayano 15 I feel like I'm getting the quality I expect for the price I am paying.
Again, just awesome - you really should give these shoes a try. You won't be dissapointed!
